Vision eases Wanda's decision to bring down the Hex, with him and the boys down with it. Vision manages to diffuse the White Vision conflict without too much violence (but still some), and yet, the only way he's able to peacefully resolve the Westview nightmare is to end his own part in it. Vision is now the most killed main character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - at least if you're getting grim about it. ![]() WandaVision: Did the finale have a post-credits scene? What's going to happen next? That's the question we're left with - a question that only Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness can answer. Wanda's eyes are powerful and wide as she seemingly answers the call. But her simple existence isn't so simple at all: WandaVision ends with Wanda in full Scarlet Witch regalia, in a magical pose not unlike ones we have seen previously from Doctor Strange, as she studies the Darkhold and hears the voices of Billy and Tommy asking for help. In the final post-credits scene, Wanda is living a quiet life in a remote location (Sokovia, potentially), living in a cabin in the mountains. Wanda and Vision put their children to sleep (quite literally, leaving them to peacefully drift off in their bedroom) and then say a tearful farewell to one another, with the hope that since they have parted ways so many times, it stands to reason they will meet again. That includes saying goodbye to Billy and Tommy, as well as Vision, who can't survive outside the Hex. (More on that soon.) Wanda disarms Agatha by using the old witch's tricks against her, carving runes into the Hex and preventing Agatha's spell-casting - all while realizing her destiny as the Scarlet Witch, a being potentially more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme.ĭefeating Agnes, Wanda now turns her attention toward defeating the Hex and moving on with her life. ![]() Vision disarms White Vision by turning him into Vision. WandaVision concludes the series with a sprawling action-oriented installment that features massive blow-out battles between Wanda Maximoff and Agatha Harkness, as well as Vision vs. Let's just hope she gets a handle on this power very soon, or WandaVision could end up feeding into one of Marvel's most harmful, tired tropes.Happily ever after? Not quite. Either way, it positions Wanda Maximoff as perhaps the most powerful person in the entire cosmos. So we now have a better idea of what the Scarlet Witch might actually be, but what's not yet clear is whether this force, this energy, will be used for good or evil. Westview was created almost entirely out of Wanda's subconscious, so this suggests that she already sees herself as the Scarlet Witch too, whether she realises it yet or not. ![]() Yes, it was a cute tribute to her outfit in the comics, but it also ties back to that moment in Strucker's lab when Wanda saw the 'Scarlet Witch' up close and personal. Whether the Mind Stone showed Wanda's true heritage or whether it enabled her to see the "Scarlet Witch" as a separate entity, it's clear that these powers are now intrinsic to her as well.Īnd that's why Wanda dressed up in that costume during the Halloween episode. WandaVision's post-credits scene sets up finale This means that the mantle is actually passed down from generation to generation, along with an innate affinity for Chaos Magic. Instead, it turns out that her real birth mother, Natalya Maximoff, was the Scarlet Witch before Wanda. This twelve-issue arc revealed that Wanda isn't Magneto's daughter after all. Just a few years ago, Marvel retconned Wanda's history entirely in a limited comic book series by James Robinson. This could either represent a separate cosmic entity, much like the Phoenix in X-Men movies, or perhaps Wanda had a vision of an ancestor, a previous Scarlet Witch. While it's possible that Wanda might have somehow seen a future version of herself in that moment, it seems more likely that this was her first actual encounter with the Scarlet Witch's form. But how did Wanda tap into this power? If you were watching this episode very closely, you might have noticed that Wanda has a brief vision of someone wearing Scarlet Witch headgear when the infinity stone unlocks her gifts. According to Agatha, the Scarlet Witch is widely regarded to be a myth, something too powerful to exist. ![]()
